HIS Mess!

Have you ever heard of Black Sunday? On Sunday April 15, 1935 there was a black day. It had been a very long dry season, actually decade, and on one Sunday after noon after a long week of dust storms, there came a big black cloud. No one knew what it was. People said they could not even see their hands in front of their faces in some places in the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles. Check out these pictures I found on the Internet...

Why are these people not running to hide in their cars?

Well, Monday here in Lubbock we saw something very much like this. It was about 6pm Monday night while we were on our way to Blake's football game when I looked in my rear view mirror and started freaking out by what I saw. I handed my hubby the camera and the phone and told him to  take pictures and call DPS to see if it was a tornado or what...
These are the pictures we were able to catch while we were driving on the freeway and at the football field. Enjoy...

This is what it looked like right before it came in. The news said that it was 8,000 feet up into the sky.

then as soon as it hit...

This care was in front of us. You cant see the front of it.

I was trying to take a picture of the road right beside me, cant see the road.

when we finally made it to the football field you could not even see the other side of the field.

starting to clear. you can see the building behind the field.

This was about 30 minutes after it hit.

CRAZIEST thing I have ever seen. I thought it was like a F10 tornado:) I was freaking out!

Suddenly Sunday

5 unrelated words to describe this week...

Its hard to remember what I did this week. That's what happens when you are in your 30's and you have too much going on. Its weeks like these that you are really glad that God is in control. He gets the glory for it all. Good and bad, easy and hard, everything.

Mud: Blake and his friend are making a village out of mud and sticks and stuff for a social studies project. I have pictures of the first stages. They have 2 weeks to complete the project. I found a piece of plywood that I gave them. They covered it with the mud and are going to build little huts and they will add a water supply as well. They think they will earn a really good grade. We will see.

COLOR: This week I got my hair done! I only get my hair cut and colored one time a year. When you have five kids, money is tight so one of the things I gave up years ago was a cool hair do. It really is a treat to get your hair cut and colored when its only rarely when you get to do it. It feels so soft and looks way more healthy now. Its a little darker that I have every gone, but I LOVE it!

CONTROL: As you can see from the above picture that I have been having a problem with some control. Food control. I have got to get serious about my food intake. I love the taste of food. I really need to take control again like I did a couple of years ago. That is what I plan on doing. That's where R.I.P.P.E.D played a part this week. At work, they just started a couple of new classes. One is Piloxing and the other is R.I.P.P.E.D. I tried both classes this week and will make them a habit in my weekly routine.

FAST: I really want to try to do this. We have been studying in the book of Acts the past few weeks. This chapter tells a lot about when the disciples went out to preach the message of Jesus after Jesus had already been crucified and raised from the dead and went back up to heaven. After Jesus died we were freed from the laws of Moses, but the church continued to fast and pray before they did, anything, really. I want to understand more about this. I think we may be messing out on some really important stuff that God has for us to do because we do not really fast as a church anymore. Fasting can really make you rely on God more and it removes distractions that can be in the way of you talking to God. Read about Paul and
Barnabas's first mission trip in Acts 13-15. Tell me what you think.

Next weeks plans...
Grocery shopping, football, Fields of Faith  and much much more!

Suddenly Sunday

What we did last week...What we have planned this week...

Five unrelated words to describe last week...

After Kaylee and Blake got out of their break dancing class the teacher told me that he thinks I need to get Kaylee a beanie for her head. She has started doing head spins and he said she will start to lose her hair so we need to get her a beanie that has extra padding in it and maybe even a helmet. I did not even realize that they made such things. He found some stuff for us on line that we can order. Please check out the video on this web site. This is Kaylee in a couple of years.

Blake was cast in the Nutcracker for this year as prince! This week at football Blake made a touch down and two extra points. Eight points!

We tryed a new hair style, thanks to Elsie from A Beautiful Mess

Ash has longer hair so it was easy to do one fishtail to the side.

Kay's worked out better in pigtails.

Super cute with the hat. Still "tomboy" enough for her.

Tay's hair is the shortest so we did a french Brade on the side with the yarn. They loved the new styles and they looked really good . They looked really cute for our date night on the town. We all went together last night to see
You must see this movie. It is very hard now a days to find a man of courage. Noah was a man of courage. Can you image...God says Noah, I want you to make a boat. I will flood the Earth and you are to take 2 of each animal the in on Earth and the birds that have the breath of life in them and take them along with your family into the Ark. Noah did not question God he just did as God told him. He is a man of courage, even at the age of 600 years of age.
